Catia Flexible PCB
FlowCAD is Dassault Solutions partner
Flexible pcb can be designed in the mechanical context in Catia as a sheet metal model. This is done in the global assembling definition (assembly) of the product. This tool can be used like the Sketcher to rapidly define a 3D shape for the flexible printed circuit board in the mechanical context. The known tools for sheet metal processing can be used both in the folded 3D model as well as in the 2D processing.
An area with design rules such as height restrictions or restricted areas (constraint area) is assigned to a special CBD object. If components are to be placed, they can either come from a mapping file or have already been taken as objects in the mCAD design as a single body. On the flexible circuit board placed components retain their relative position when folding or in the processing.
The data exchange with any eCAD system can be done by IDF 2.0 or 3.0 IDF. Changes in contour, Cutouts and component placements can be exchanged via IDF between the worlds.
